Legal System

The Chinese Legal System is one of the oldest system. In its present state, it is a blend of traditional Chinese approach with Western influence.

The Legal System of the People's Republic of China is largely a civil law system and is influence by the Continental European legal systems, particularly the German civil law system.

Courts

The Supreme Peoples Court of the Peoples Republic of China is the highest court of justice in the country.

The judge and prosecutor are regarded as public servants. In some cases, the quality of judges and prosecutors are lower than lawyers.

Constitution

The Constitution of China is not treated as the supreme law, nor is it enforced.

Fazhì

Fǎzhì is the Chinese word for Rule of Law.
